Daniel Lebowitz is a registered, bilingual psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University, and a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies from University of Wisconsin.
He created Root Connections Counseling in 2013 with a passion for serving the larger Boulder area. Prior to private practice, Daniel interned at Judi’s House in Denver, a grief center for children and families. Daniel is intimately familiar with grief due to the loss of his father when he was seven-years-old. Through his own path of learning and growth, Daniel became inspired to help others find the space to mourn, and learn from their life’s experiences.
As a boy growing up without a male role model in a society with complex and frequently unhealthy messages about men, Daniel understood the need for positive rites of passage and healthy masculinity. Before becoming a psychotherapist, he worked as a mentor for teenage boys struggling with addiction and behavioral problems. He enjoys helping adolescents and men develop an embodied and constructive sense of manhood.
In addition, Daniel and his wife, Dr. Jenni Skyler, Director of The Intimacy Institute, offer sex and couples therapy. Together they offer workshops, talks, and couples retreats.
When Daniel is not in the office, he enjoys life in the beautiful Front Range of Colorado. As an avid outdoorsman, he finds that the mountains bring life’s priorities back into perspective. His lifelong practice in martial arts has taught him about the humble path of the warrior. With a deep love for sustainable and healthy living, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife growing food and creating culinary art and adventures.
